Mr. Hoverson represents student loan borrowers to provide comprehensive assistance in all the new and complicated administrative remedies available to FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN BORROWERS; and, for PRIVATE STUDENT LOAN BORROWERS he defends lawsuits against the borrower, sues private lenders in bankruptcy court to discharge “non-qualified” student loans, and finds any available remedy to lessen the burden on the borrower.
He is admitted to practice in Minnesota State Courts; United States District Court, District of Minnesota; and Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Memberships include Minnesota State Bar Association; Minnesota State Bar Association Bankruptcy Section; National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys; Eighth District Bar Association; and, Volunteer Lawyers Network. Mr. Hoverson is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell and he has an A+ rating by the Better Business Bureau.
Mr. Hoverson graduated from the University of North Dakota with a B.A., Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. He received his J.D., with Distinction, in 1986 from the University of North Dakota School of Law and graduated in the top twenty percent of his class.
He has taught bankruptcy law and debtor/creditor law at Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota. He has also volunteered as a Minneapolis personal bankruptcy lawyer through Volunteer Lawyers Network in Hennepin County, Minnesota, for the past 30 years.
